Urgent medical conditions are ones that are not considered emergencies but still require timely care. Some examples of medical conditions that may require a visit to an Urgent Care Centre or a Walk-In Clinic include:
- Minor cuts or wounds that may require stitches
- Sprains, strains, or deep bruises
- Mild to moderate asthma attacks
- Ear infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Upper respiratory infections
- Insect bites
- Skin rashes and infections
- Minor burns
- Earaches, minor eye injuries
- Fevers, coughs and colds
- Infections
- Nose and throat complaints
- Mild to moderate abdominal pain or vomiting and/or diarrhea
The Regional Virtual Urgent Care Program is available to residents in the central region of Ontario who require timely access to a nurse practitioner for urgent non-life-threatening conditions that can be addressed virtually. The virtual care clinic is open 7 days a week from 1pm to 9pm (including holidays).
