Halton Healthcare has Intensive Care Units at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) and Milton District Hospital (MDH), and a Closed Observation Unit at Georgetown Hospital (GH).

Georgetown Hospital

Georgetown Hospital features an Observation Unit located within the Medical Surgical Care Units. The Observation Unit is used for patients requiring closer monitoring - mechanical ventilation can be supported for a period of up to 18 hours but patients requiring longer support are transferred to other hospitals.

Milton District Hospital

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Milton District Hospital provides both Intensive Care and Coronary Care. Located on the Second Floor, the ICU provides intensive care for a wide range of complex and rapidly changing medical, surgical and cardiac disorders. The Intensive Care Team provides expertise for patients requiring advanced respiratory and cardiac support, including hemodynamic monitoring.

Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital

At the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a combined unit located on the Second Floor consisting of both Intensive Care and Coronary Care. The ICU provides intensive care for a wide range of complex and rapidly changing medical, surgical and cardiac disorders. The Intensive Care Team provides expertise for patients requiring advanced respiratory support, hemodynamic monitoring, hemodialysis and other life supporting modalities including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).

The ICU also provides a Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) which is comprised of intensivists and specially trained intensive care nurses. This rapid response team is dedicated to improving patient care outcomes by bringing intensive care expertise to the inpatient units 24 hours a day.
