The Ambulatory clinics at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) include the medical/surgical (med/surg) clinics and the ophthalmology clinics, which have expanded significantly since the move to the new hospital site in 2015.
During your care, you will have access to the following care providers to support you:
- Medical/Surgical
- Ophthalmology
All referrals are sent to specific physician offices.
The Ambulatory Clinics will provide safe, quality patient care that:
- Decants activity from the Emergency Department (ED) or the Operating Room (OR)
- Prevents a patient in the ED from being admitted to an inpatient unit
- Reduces acute or post-acute inpatient length of stay (LOS) by providing appropriate follow up
It is appropriate for these activities to be done within the acute care hospital rather than a physician’s office because they require patient monitoring/post procedure recovery, specialized equipment, technical support and/or multi-disciplinary intervention.
