Rehabilitation & Geriatrics

Halton Healthcare's Rehabilitation and Geriatric Program includes an array of defined inpatient and outpatient services that together address the complex needs of the elderly and the adult population requiring specialized and general rehabilitation or complex transitional care. In addition, there are a variety of discipline-specific as well as interdisciplinary services and clinics that fulfill a rehabilitative role for both adults and children.

We have also implemented Safer Elder Care – an award winning program that recognizes the unique needs of older adults and provides a culture of care that is sensitive to the needs of this population.

In May 2009, our commitment to excellence in geriatric care was recognized when we were awarded the Nurses Improving Care for Health-System Elders (NICHE) designation. We are the first non-teaching community hospital in Ontario to receive this designation and are now connected to over 200 other NICHE organizations across North America.
