How to Access Services

Care In An Emergency

Crisis Response at Halton Healthcare Services

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and require immediate attention please visit your closest hospital emergency room or dial 911 on your telephone to reach Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Halton Healthcare provides emergency mental health services  through our emergency departments at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Milton District Hospital, and Georgetown Hospital. No referral is necessary. An Emergency Department nurse and physician will complete an assessment to  rule out  non-psychiatric causes of symptoms and  to ensure medical stability. The Mental Health Crisis Response Team will become involved if the patient requires a specialized mental health assessment, mental health treatment, discharge and crisis planning. Rapid follow-up following an emergency visit is provided through our Urgent Care Clinic, offered at both the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Milton District Hospital.
