The Intensive Care Team provides expertise for patients requiring advanced respiratory support, hemodynamic monitoring, hemodialysis and other life supporting modalities including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
The ICU also provides a Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) which is comprised of intensivists and specially trained intensive care nurses. This rapid response team is dedicated to improving patient care outcomes by bringing intensive care expertise to the inpatient units 24 hours a day. The team provides rapid assessment and treatment for the Hospital inpatient population who may require access to intensive care services.
The multidisciplinary team also includes, cardiologists, registered nurses with advanced training in critical care, pharmacists, registered respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, and dieticians. This team works together collaboratively to provide quality of care in a compassionate environment.
