Outpatient Clinics

RSV Clinic

RSV stands for Respiratory Syncytial Virus. RSV is a very common virus in infancy and early childhood. Almost all children will have been infected with RSV by the age of 2- 3 years. RSV infections tend to happen from Fall to Spring in temperate climates such as Canada.

In many children, RSV causes symptoms similar to the common cold. But in certain cases, most often in premature babies and children with certain lung conditions or congenital heart disease, RSV can cause an infection of the lungs. When this happens, babies can then become very sick and may require hospitalization.

Halton Healthcare operates a RSV clinic to which operates from November to April where a medication called Synagis, which can prevent serious lower respiratory tract infection caused by RSV in babies identified to be at increased risk from RSV. Your baby’s doctor and the healthcare team will determine if your baby requires this medication and will make the appropriate referral to this clinic if your baby would benefit from this medication.

Post Emergency Paediatric Clinic (PEPC)

The Post Emergency Paediatric Clinic provides follow up Paediatric consultation services for children who have been seen in the Emergency Department at either the Oakville, Milton or Georgetown Hospitals. This clinic operates seven days a week (with the exception of statutory holidays) and is by appointment only. Your child may be referred to this clinic following a visit a to the Emergency Department if it is felt that further follow up by a Paediatrician is required.

Trillium Diabetes Clinic

Provides both individual and family counseling for coping with a new diagnosis, ongoing struggles with diabetes management, family discord, mental health concerns and resource planning. This clinic also offer a monthly children, youth and parent support group. In addition, we now offer a Family/Youth Running Group.
