June Rushak - Fundraising Events Coordinator Volunteer

If you want to see dedication in action, meet June Rushak, who has dedicated her fundraising efforts to the Milton District Hospital (MDH) Auxiliary since 1999. June got involved with the Auxiliary helping with the Hospital Garage Sale which she quickly morphed into a very successful annual Rummage Sale. Today she runs a multitude of annual community based fundraisers to benefit MDH including the Hospital Plant Sale, the Strawberry Fair and the Ladies Night Out Fashion and Variety Show.

“June is a fundraiser extraordinaire. Her various community fundraisers make over $20,000 per year for our hospital. She is always coming up with a new project or fundraising idea and she leverages her community connections to benefit our hospital,” notes Janice Cowen, MDH Coordinator of Volunteers. “She is our hospital auxiliary ambassador out in the Milton community.”

“June is a natural leader and energetic organizer,” notes Bonna Richmond, MDH Auxiliary President. “With her enthusiastic momentum she can easily engage teams of people for her fundraisers.”

“The hospital is always on my mind,” notes June. “I feel a real sense of satisfaction knowing that I am supporting MDH and that the money is going toward medical equipment. I also know that I couldn’t do it without the help of a strong team of volunteers and our many community partnerships. It’s hard work - we knock on a lot of doors but our local business have been very supportive. Everyone loves our hospital and wants to do their part. Milton has a lot of community spirit and its paying off.”
