The Oakville Hospital Volunteer Associations receives grant to enhance hospital SMILE Program

July 2015 - OAKVILLE - The Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association (OHVA) applied for and received a $1,000.00 financial contribution from the Community Fund (a fund held within the Oakville Community Foundation) towards the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital’s SMILE Program.

“The OHVA is always proud to support the hospital by giving our gift of time and through the many fundraising initiatives we’re involved in. Creating wonderful patient and family experiences is our goal and we are so very thankful to have this additional support from The Foundation to help us continue on this path. They are great partners to work with!” said Patte Seaton, President of OHVA.

OHVA donates another $300,000 to Halton Healthcare

June 2015 - At their Annual General Meeting in June, the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association (OHVA) celebrated a momentous year with the presentation of another cheque to Halton Healthcare.

The cheque marks the sixth installment of their 10 year, $3 million pledge to the New Oakville Hospital.

Beta Sigma Phi donate $4,500 to help fund equipment for
New Oakville Hospital

June 2015 - At their Annual Founder’s Day dinner on April 30th, 2015 at Le Dome, the sorority Beta Sigma Phi and their city council presented our OHVA President Patte Seaton with a $4500.00 donation to the OHVA to help fund new equipment for the New Oakville Hospital.

 In thanks, Patte Seaton said “On behalf of the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association and the Hospital, I sincerely thank Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for their generous donation this year.  They are making a difference! We are thankful that they chose to donate to us again this year, and in a bigger way by involving the other Oakville Chapters.  Additionally, I’d like to acknowledge and thank Jan Everett not only for facilitating this donation, but also for the hours she gives by volunteering in our Oakville Hospital Gift Shop.”  Read More

Hospital Volunteers Make Fifth Payment of $3M Pledge

June 2014 –  At their Annual General Meeting, held June 26, 2014, the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association presented a $300,000.00 cheque to Halton Healthcare Services (HHS). The donation marks the fifth installment of their ten-year $3 million pledge for the New Oakville Hospital.

A New Chairperson for the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association

June 2014 - At the OHVA general meeting, Patte Seaton was elected as the new OHVA Chair. Patte has volunteered at the Oakville Hospital since 2005. Patte has been a Board member of the incorporated OHVA since its inception in July 2012 and served on the previous OHVA Board since 2008. Patte replaces Sudi Kalra, who has completed his two year term. In addition to acting as Past-Chair, Sudi was elected as the new OHVA Vice-Chair.

Generous Donation from Judy and David Campbell!

June 2014 – Oakville Hospital volunteer Judy Campbell and her husband, David, have made a significant donation to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for upgrading software that allows the 2D cardiac ultrasound probe and show 3D imaging and for purchasing a physiological monitor with the cardiac capability. On behalf of the Hospital and the Association, Sudi Kalra thanked them for their generosity at the OHVA Annual General Meeting held June 26, 2014.  Thank you so much Judy and David!

Local Women's Group Donates $2000 Towards New Oakville Hospital

June 2014 - Xi Epsilon Phi, a local chapter of the international Beta Sigma Phi sorority, donated $2000 to the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association (OHVA) today to help fund new equipment for the new hospital opening December 2015. While the focus of this group is to connect and interact socially with each other, they also participate in many fundraising activities for the local community. There are currently nine chapters in Oakville with this chapter starting in 1980 and has 21 members.

June 2014 - The Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association is seeking volunteers to play the piano for patient sing-alongs, weekday afternoons.  Assistance with recreational therapy baking programs or visiting is also available.  To volunteer with patients or behind-the-scenes:

Buy Flowers Online Now Available at Oakville Hospital!

February 2014 - The Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association (OHVA) has launched a new "Buy Flowers Online" section on the Halton Healthcare website for patients and visitors attending the hospital.  This online shopping cart is to enhance the convenience and ease of purchasing online for all hospital patients and visitors. 

All net proceeds will help the OHVA fulfill its three million dollar pledge towards funding equipment for the New Oakville Hospital.
