Everyone coming to our hospitals can expect to be screened and asked some important questions. Infection and prevention and control active screening measures are in place to protect patients, visitors and staff and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Screening measures may mean longer wait times and those who are unwell are asked to stay home unless they have an appointment or it is an emergency.
Patients, visitors and staff arriving to the hospital will be asked:
- if they have symptoms of a respiratory illness
- if they have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days
- if they have come into contact with someone who has or is suspected of having COVID-19
If you are screened without risk, you will be permitted entry to the hospital. If screening reveals that you are symptomatic, you will not be permitted to enter the building and instructed to go home and call your local public health department.
Same-day Reentry to any of our hospitals
If you leave the hospital and plan to return the same day, you will be screened again.
