Masking at Halton Healthcare
The Region of Halton has passed a by-law that makes face coverings or non-medical masks mandatory in certain indoor public places in Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills and Burlington effective Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
Patients and Visitors
Effective July 22, we will be asking all patients and visitors to bring their own face covering or mask to wear while they are in our hospitals and community settings. If someone arrives without a face covering or mask, we will provide an appropriate mask and strongly encourage the wearing of it. This is in keeping with the current practice at most other area hospitals. Please read our Visiting Information & Guidelines document that includes details on wearing your face mask correctly.
Please keep in mind that some individuals are exempt from the by-law and that not all medical conditions or reasons for mask exemption are visible. Everyone’s situation is different. We encourage you to be understanding and supportive to others who may be exempt from wearing a mask.
Additional Safety Measures
There are many other safety measures in place at Halton Healthcare to protect everyone’s health and safety that will continue. In addition to wearing masks, everyone must continue to pass active screening before entering our facilities, practice good hand hygiene and maintain physical distancing.
