It was a week to remember for Mark and his family - and not just because of Game Seven of the ALCS Championship.

On October 19, Mark and his wife were celebrating a win of their own: the birth of their first child, baby Julian.

A lifelong Jays fan, Mark made sure the game wasn’t missed - even from the hospital room. “We had the game on my laptop,” he said. “I couldn’t cheer quite as much with the baby on my lap, but we were definitely rooting for them from here.”

As the new family prepared to head home, both Mark and Julian were dressed for the occasion in Blue Jays gear. He's already a Jays fan, that’s not even a question," he said proudly. “I’m so excited to raise the next generation of Jays fans. I can’t wait to take him to his first Jr. Jays game and watch him run the bases.”

Halton Healthcare staff were thrilled to celebrate this special moment with the family. “Every birth is a special story,” said Jordyn Gerber, Interim Patient Care Manager Women and Children, Birthing. “We love seeing families celebrate life’s biggest moments, and it’s wonderful to know we could be part of theirs.”

As the new family heads home, they look forward to sleepless nights, sweet moments and hopefully, a Toronto Blue Jays win.
