(Milton, ON) – Milton District Hospital upgraded two pieces of equipment within its Emergency Department – a GlideScope and Air Puff Tonometer – after receiving funding through the Town of Milton's Community Fund in 2016.
“We are grateful for these funds to continue providing the best emergency care to our patients using the best available technology,” said Dr. Jane Wilkinson, MDH Associate Chief of Staff. “We will collaborate with the Town of Milton in the future as we expand our hospital services to meet the growing needs of our community.”
- The GlideScope assists physicians and respiratory therapists in intubation of difficult airways for patients during an emergency respiratory issue.
- The Air Puff Tonometer is used to diagnose emergency eye issues.
- The Milton Community Fund (MCF) program supports activities that enhance the quality of life and/or image of our community. Funds for this program are provided based on proceeds received from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (Mohawk location). http://www.milton.ca/en/live/miltoncommunityfundgrants.asp
