Exemplary Patient Experiences, Always.
With government approval of the expansion received in 2011, the planning process began immediately.
Functional Program submitted
The Functional Program for the expansion was developed to provide detailed descriptions of the services that will be offered and the resources required to support them. This important document, which was submitted to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for approval, also provided instruction for the architectural and engineering team for the preparation of preliminary building designs.
During this time Halton Healthcare worked to develop output specification documents which formed the guidelines and performance requirements within which the successful building team were required to work when preparing their overall design proposals.

Relocating to new facilities with modern design and advanced technologies brings a lot of changes to the way staff, physicians and volunteers work and provide care. During this time staff, physicians and volunteers will be participating in detailed orientation and training to ensure they are ready to provide care to our patients when the expansion opens. Other activities will include installing and testing equipment, testing building systems and extensive cleaning.
