Respiratory Rehabilitation Program

OTMHMDHGT
The Respiratory Rehabilitation Program is a progressive exercise program for respiratory clients who have decreased tolerance and endurance due to an exacerbation of their Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease or asthma. The program involves a series of group support and education sessions to help patients acknowledge, accept and manage their condition and trains them to continue on a home program once they have completed the Program. Family members are welcome to participate. The program involves an initial assessment, daily attendance for one month with decreasing attendance as the patient's progress plateaus and prepares for discharge to a community program. Participants need a written referral from their family physician.
